MG Services has been working really hard to make safety not only a priority but also part of the every day conversation on sites and in the office. Safety should be a daily habit – we constantly look for ways to improve engagement and solve reoccurring concerns.
This year, one of our employees nominated us for some of the SAFE Word Awards, to recognize our efforts for excellence in workplace safety and health. We won the SAFEty and Health Committee Award and also received an Honourable Mention for the SAFEty Culture Award – a huge accomplishment within 2 years of new ownership!
MG Electrical/Mechanical Services’ safety and health committee makes collaboration and relevance a priority. By gathering input from both office and field staff, the safety and health committee members make sure all current issues and concerns are addressed. Open conversation and dialogue about safety helps MG Services address real concerns and issues and allows for quick adjustments to safety initiatives and procedures. Safety as an attitude improves everyone’s well-being and is part of their company’s culture. Watch the video to meet MG Electrical/Mechanical Services’ committee
The awards were presented at The Safetys, a gala that combines the awards programs for eight Manitoba safety organizations. The Safetys was held Wednesday, September 26th, at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre. Growth, Enterprise and Trade Minister Blaine Pedersen was there to present the awards. The owners, the committee co-chairs, and 2 other committee members attended the event – enjoying a fun photo booth with costumes, a 3-course dinner, Safe-tinis (non-alcoholic martinis), accepting their award on stage, and a very popular candy bar at the end of the evening. It was a great opportunity to celebrate our success as a team, and for new employees to experience some of what MG Services strives for – a friendly and fun team environment, where everyone can make a difference.
